Formulation notes
- Gamma-oryzanol and the tocotrienol fraction survive refining. This is not a marketing claim we invented — it is why rice bran oil has a longer induction period than its iodine value would predict.
- Lighter on the skin than olive or almond at the same use level. Good facial-oil base for anyone who finds those two heavy.
- In soap, rice bran behaves like a softer olive. Pair it with a hard fat or expect a long cure.
Applications
- Facial oil
- Hair oil and scalp treatment
- Lotion and cream
- Cold process soap
- Massage oil
- Shampoo and conditioner bars
Not classified as hazardous
Not classified as hazardous under 29 CFR 1910.1200 (HazCom 2012, as amended 2024). Determination to be confirmed against the incoming lot's manufacturer SDS before publication.
- Transport classification
- Not regulated for transport — DOT, IATA, IMDG.
- Allergen statement
- Not an FDA major food allergen. Rice is gluten-free; we confirm no wheat cross-contact at the mill.
California Proposition 65
Inorganic arsenic compounds are Prop 65-listed and rice bioaccumulates arsenic. Arsenic partitions largely to the solid fraction rather than the oil, which makes rice bran oil substantially lower risk than rice powder — but we test arsenic on every lot and publish it on the COA rather than asking you to assume.
