DL-panthenol is the racemic mixture. Roughly half the biological activity of the D- isomer per unit mass — dose accordingly.

Formulation notes
- Hygroscopic. It will cake in a humid room. Buy the size you will use in a season.
- The racemic mixture carries roughly half the activity of D-panthenol per unit mass. Suppliers rarely say this. Dose on activity, not on weight.
- Powder form makes it the right choice for bars and dry systems where the liquid grade is a handling problem.
